WOOLAND PTA NEWS
February 8, 2012

As always the Winter Carnival was a success once again. The weather was great and everyone had fun. Any of you moms or dads that cooked sweets, worked in the kitchen, at the food or raffle table, helped prepare the grounds for the races, or helped with the races THANK YOU. With out your support the carnival would not have taken place. A big THANK YOU also has to go out to our great teachers and staff here at Woodland. No other school has the support of the staff and teacher’s as Woodland does. Attached is a list of our winners for the Winter Carnival.

Just a reminder that PTA Roller-skating night is this Thursday, February 9, 2012. The bus will leave the school at 5:45p.m. and return to the school by 8:15p.m. Just a reminder to parents that they must pick up their children promptly (8:00p.m. if picking up at the Roller Rink and 8:15 p.m. if picking up at the school).

Due to scheduling conflicts, PTA’s next meeting is rescheduled for Monday, February 27, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome to attend.

If you are unable to attend our monthly meetings but are still interested in helping out, please contact one of our four officers listed above or any PTA member to see where you can best be needed.

During the year for certain events, PTA room moms will be calling mothers to see if they are willing to donate a baked good for suppers, winter carnival, etc. We hope if you are interested in helping you fill out the form that was sent with the school newsletter last week and return it to the school at your earliest convenience.

Let’s have a great year everyone!

Volunteer BAKE Signup Sheet

Throughout the school year Woodland PTA hosts many events that require the assistance and involvement of parents. Each year PTA sponsors a Harvest and Spring Supper, Winter Carnival, and a Staff Appreciation breakfast. The funds raised from some of these events benefit your children, the school, and the community. One of the many small ways that parents can help is to bake desserts or donate baked goods. Each classroom has a Room Mother that is responsible for contacting 3 parents from their child’s class to bake for each event. Desserts may be dropped off either the night before (while PTA members are setting up) or the day of the event before it starts.

PTA is asking in advance for your help. If you are able and willing to bake a dessert for any of the events listed below, please check off which ones and provide your contact information. The Room Mother for your child’s class will contact you approximately 1 week in advance of the event as a reminder.
